Introduction
A framework to develop a decision model for ERP selection in small and medium enterprises: This study proposed a decision model for ERP selection in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim of this study was to help SMEs make better decisions with regard to their enterprise resource planning (ERP) software needs.
Approach
The proposed model integrates two approaches to decision making – analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and data envelopment analysis (DEA) – in order to holistically evaluate potential ERP.
Results
We managed to provide services in a very efficient way. Furthermore, we created a positive effect on productivity and we increased the quality of products. Moreover, a systematic review showed that it was feasible to set up an internal ERP by using a centralized data repository and a comprehensive decision support system with the assistance of a dedicated ERP manager. In addition, an internal-external collaborative ERP plan was created.
